Fiji part 2

Our adventures in Fiji are almost done! 😢

Tomorrow we will fly to Rarotonga, the main island of the Cook Islands.

Our stay in Fiji was amazing, we could have spent some more weeks here; there is so much to do and see!

It was very hard to select some pictures for this blog, Remco shot so many great ones:

On the jetty close to our home, the Coral Coast, Remco's favourite pose ;-)

On Saturday it was raining all morning and we found out is was sunny in the direction of west Fiji, so we drove until it was sunny and made a stop at the first beach that was on the map. The beach's name was Rendez Vous Beach, with beautiful mangrove trees. We don't think a lot of tourist made it to here!

The road to Rendez Vous Beach

It was so quiet, however there were some ladies selling coconuts!

We drove futher west to the port of Denareau. Rafael was disappointed we couldn't find a pool for a swim, but we made it all up in the carousel.

The port of Denareau; the rain was following us.

On Sunday we visited Kula Eco Park. Set in amongst the tropical jungle, a great spot to walk around and learn about the natural side of Fiji.

There are plenty of birds and plants to see, as wel as iguanas and snakes to hold (for example on your head).

Sigatoka Sand Dunes National Park. We walked on the beautiful trail on the dunes with stunning views. Never knew dunes could be green ;-)

We are renting a house at the so called Coral Coast, but if we spent some money on drinks or lunch we can have a swim in one of the resorts nearby. It's Rafael's favourite thing to do!

The beach outside one of the resort on the Coral Coast. To me it's breathtaking, however our Lonely Planet book says: " the Coral Coast's beaches are poor cousins to those on Fiji's smaller islands..." Okay...

Snorkeling in a pretty rough sea.

Remco nailed it again baking some "Pannekoeken" for dinner 😋

At night we had this view from our bedroom, so Remco rushed outside to take pictures of the countless stars!

On Tuesday, our last day in Fiji, we drove to Pacific Harbour. Unfortunately still no snorkeling-tours,  because of the wind. So we just strolled around and had a drink at one of the coffee houses.

Enjoying a delicious Fijian dinner (Miji: fish and vegetables) at the "Eco Cafe" at the beach.

Vinaka Fiji!!
(Thank you Fiji)
