Last part of New Zealand & stopover in Sydney, Australia

We've now spent almost 5 weeks in New Zealand and this is actually way too short to explore this beautiful country. On the other hand, we drove a lot: around 4754 kilometers in total by car.

Now it's time for new adventures: meeting more friends in Sydney (Neeltje) and Bali (Beth) and off to some more tropical weather. We will fly around the world more and more back towards our 'kikkerlandje' Holland.

This was our second time in Sydney for Remco and myself (first time was in 2011), so we could show Rafael this great metropolis. It was above 35 degrees celsius during the days we were in Australia, still strange to be in the middle of the summer in January and receiving pictures of snow from family and friends in Holland.

Below the pictures of our last part in New Zealand and of our two day stop-over in Sydney:

Touring around Lake Wanaka

Remco and Rafael together in a kayak and me on the paddle-board on lake Wanaka.

We have snow too!

We drove more south to Te Anau from where we explored the famous Milford Sounds Fiordlands by car and boat.
These gorgeous 'fjords' are on the Unesco World Heritage list.

Waterfalls, some as tall as 150 meters.

New Zealand Fur Seals

It was a foggy and cloudy day, however this is normal:
The Milford Sounds Fiordlands is the most rainy place on earth.

This area was also featuring the movie 'The Lord of the Rings'.

We spent our last day in New Zealand in Queenstown at Lake Wakatipu

Our trip around the globe continues via Australia (Sydney) to Indonesia (Bali).

Taking off for new adventures in Sydney.

A beautiful view from the plane on New Zealand.

We arrived in Sydney after a 3 hour flight in the afternoon.
Because the weather was so hot, this big (water-)playground was all we (Rafael) could wish for!

Darling Harbour

On our 2nd day in Sydney, we met our friend Neeltje again after 5 years.
We went to see the famous Opera House, Harbour Bridge and the Botanic Gardens.

Next stop and our 7th country of our trip around the world: Bali, Indonesia!
